Fire ravishes fabric warehouse, destroys 10 homes
(VOV) - Firefighters battled a massive multiple-alarm blaze throughout the evening of January 13 at a fabric warehouse Ho Chi Minh City, a fire department spokesman said.

The fire was reported by a worker in the complex located on Highway 1A at the Vinh Loc B Commune in the Binh Chanh District at about 7 pm. |

The building was unoccupied at the time because people who usually work there left earlier, he said. |

The fire rapidly engulfed 10 neighbouring houses in smoke and flames, completely destroying them. |

Some 100 firefighters, together with 20 fire engines, battled the blaze overnight before bringing it under control. |

Nobody was injured. |

Hazardous materials teams responded to assist with runoff because chemicals were stored in the building. |

The cause of the fire has not been determined, the spokesperson said. |
