Exhibition highlights French solutions for sustainable transport in HCM City

VOV.VN - The French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City hosted an exhibition on January 7 to introduce France’s solutions for sustainable transport in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event took place on the occasion of the launch of Metro Line No. 3 in Hanoi and the first metro line in Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon addressing the function, French Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser emphasized that in many countries, including France, the transportation sector is the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and one of the main sources of air pollution.

In order to achieve the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, France has moved to prioritise green transformation in this field, as well as providing more convenient, less expensive, and cleaner transportation solutions.

According to the French Consul General, with 120 years of experience in the field of road, air, and maritime transport, French companies continue to lead the way in technologies and innovations in developing transport models.

The French diplomat stressed that Vietnam can adopt sustainable transport solutions to achieve zero net emissions by 2050. France therefore stands ready to share its expertise and provide assistance in deploying the best technical solutions which can meet international standards for Vietnam, she added.

The exhibition is scheduled to run through to the end of March.
