An exhibition titled "Education on wild animal trafficking for high school pupils in Hanoi" opened in the capital city on September 14.

This is part of a project sponsored by the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam to change people's behavior and to preserve rare plants and wild animals in Vietnam.

The exhibition is the first event of a dissemination campaign in the country with a focus on Hanoi, which will attempt to persuade people not to use products from wild animals illegally and unsustainably, said Hoang Hong, an expert from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The exhibition, co-organised by the WWF and an organisation that monitors wildlife trade in Vietnam, TRAFFIC, has attracted the participation of 45 high schools in Hanoi.

The campaign is expected to help bring in investment from international natural conservation organisations in protecting and developing natural resources and bio-diversification in Vietnam.

According to a recent survey conducted by the WWF and TRAFFIC in Hanoi, 50 percent of local people used products from wild animals and those with higher education used even more.
