Enthusiasm of young volunteers

Young volunteers’ campaigns have expanded and drawn public attention over the past five years.
More than 16 million Youth Union members and other young people have engaged in volunteer programs in numerous sectors: new rural development, building civilized urban areas, ensuring traffic safety, environmental protection, climate change response, blood donation, community health, paying gratitude to social contributors, food safety, and stopping epidemics.
Le Quoc Phong, the first Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said volunteer activities are organized regularly in many areas.
“We design long-term activities for young volunteer intellectuals. We promote their learning efforts and their involvement in social activities. We diversify volunteer activities to fulfill social needs,” said Mr Phong.
Youth Union’s volunteer activities have encouraged young people to contribute to social and economic development.
Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh, Secretary of Ben Cau district’s Youth Union in Tay Ninh province, said “To promote volunteer activities, we have organized “volunteer hours” so young volunteers can get involved whenever they’re available. The Youth Union’s Central Committee has instructed local units to carry out “volunteer hours” to gain practical results in the next five years.”
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has taken the lead in young volunteer campaigns and guides young people to organize volunteer activities that benefit society.
