English writing contest features ASEAN culture
An English writing contest for youths themed “ASEAN citizens” featuring Southeast Asian values has been launched.

The contest forms part of activities to celebrate the 49th founding anniversary of ASEAN (August 8) and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam–Thailand diplomatic ties.
It aims to create a practical English speaking playground for Vietnamese youths and enhance their understanding of the ASEAN community.
Anyone of Vietnamese nationality aged between 16 and 30 is eligible to register for the contest.
Entries are to be submitted prior to September 10.
Outstanding candidates will be selected to represent Vietnam in educational and cultural exchange programmes across the region.
