Energy efficiency takes centre stage at seminar in Hanoi

VOV.VN - Leading experts from the Republic of Korea (ROK) on March 14 held a training seminar in Hanoi for local energy efficiency operators and professionals in the real estate construction industry.

Among other things, it provided an opportunity to address the main questions linked to energy certification, with a complete overview of ROK energy consumption, incentives and energy tests.

During the workshop, there was a presentation of ESS, a lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide energy storage system created and used by the ROKs largest utility, Kolkam, to provide frequency regulation for the Korea Electric Power Corporation.

There was also a discussion of energy efficiency labelling in buildings, and the most recent technologies for air conditioning and heating, such as solar photovoltaic systems, micro-cogeneration and ‘solar cooling’.

Other issues addressed included the application and results of a ‘net metering’ system, as well as successful ROK cases related to integrated planning, distributed generation and dynamic modelling, and the opportunities for collaboration with Vietnamese companies and institutions.

The ESS experts dedicated the seminar to energy efficiency and also addressed the subject of ROK new technologies for air conditioning and heating and the country’s experience in energy certification for buildings.

It also touched upon the promotion of energy efficiency, or rather the rational use of energy, as a priority for Vietnam to promote innovative technology in supply chains and the protection of the environment.
