The Ministry of Education and Training held a press briefing on the “Education Initiative 2007” contest in Hanoi on April 10.
At the briefing, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Dang Huynh Mai said the contest is funded by the Vietnamese government, the World Bank, the UK, Norway, Canada and Australia. It is aimed at improving and enhancing the quality of educating primary school children who are facing difficult circumstances across the country.
Entrants to the contest can be Government agencies, schools, research institutes, Vietnam’s non-governmental organizations, groups and individuals who get government sponsorship.
The contest will last until May 7 and the awards ceremony will be held in Hanoi on June 28. Forty prizes, each worth US$10,000, will be presented at the ceremony.
