The European Commission will finance a number of training workshops this month to help improve education management and assessment in the country.  

The information was announced at a two-day conference on the implementation of the Support to the Renovation of Education Management (SREM) project in 2010 in Khanh Hoa province on March 2.

The training workshops aim to support education and training departments around the country develop Project Management Information System (PMIS), Education Management Information System (EMIS) and Vietnamese EMIS (VEMIS).

The conference created an opportunity for participants to discuss measures to implement the SREM project, and introduced two new systems for managing libraries and school equipment.

Launched in early 2006, the SREM project has a total funding of EUR 14.4 million with EUR12 million soured from the EC.
