VOV.VN - An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale hit Moc Chau District of the northern mountainous province of Son La on September 23 morning, reported the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre under the Institute of Geophysics of Vietnam.
The earthquake occurred at 7:30 a.m. at a depth of approximately 10 km, said the centre, adding it did not pose any significant risk.
Many local residents of Moc Chau Farm Town reported that they felt the tremor.
The Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre said it would continue to monitor the earthquake closely and release warnings in advance.
Moc Chau District is located on the Da River fault line, meaning it frequently experiences earthquakes. This area is predicted to be at risk for seismic activity and could potentially experience stronger earthquakes in the future.
