Dozens of students hospitalized due to food poisoning

VOV.VN - Sixteen students from Hung Loc Primary School in Thong Nhat district in the southern province of Dong Nai were rushed to hospital on December 15 after having adverse reactions to their breakfast at the school.

At 10 am while studying in the classroom, students began to experience symptoms of food poisoning such as nausea, bellyache, and diarrhoea.

At 2pm the same day, these students were still being monitored as they received treatment.

Some students said that before going to class, they ate rice vermicelli for breakfast at the school’s canteen, while others used food bought from shops outside the school.

They were taken to the emergency unit of Dau Giay Polyclinic in Thong Nhat district. After providing medical examinations, doctors said they showed symptoms of food poisoning.

Medical workers have co-ordinated with relevant agencies to take samples of the food for testing to pinpoint the cause of the food poisoning.
