Dense fog disrupts flights at Noi Bai International Airport

VOV.VN - Several flights were disrupted at Noi Bai International Airport on January 27 as dense fog and low cloud cover reduced visibility, affecting take-offs and landings.

According to Noi Bai International Airport  representatives, flight operations were adjusted during the morning to ensure safety amid poor visibility conditions. As of the latest update, four outbound flights were temporarily unable to depart, while four inbound flights were diverted to alternate airports. The number of affected flights may increase in the coming hours.

Airport representatives advised passengers to closely monitor flight information displays at the terminal and follow the latest updates from their airlines.

Earlier, on December 31, 2025, dense fog was also recorded at several airports, including Dien Bien, Tho Xuan and Vinh, forcing airlines to adjust flight schedules to maintain operational safety.

The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation said accurate forecasting of fog formation, intensity and duration plays a crucial role in helping airlines and air traffic service providers plan flight operations proactively, while ensuring safety and minimizing disruption to passengers during peak travel periods, particularly around major holidays and the Lunar New Year or Tet.
