The Agricultural Development Denmark Asia (ADDA), a Danish non-governmental orgnaisation, has launched the second phase of the project on community development for ethnic minority groups in the northern region.

The over US$1.8 million project will be carried out between 2010 and 2014 in the north-western mountain provinces of Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau and in the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

It aims to develop communal groups and help farmers build plans for production and business development, transfer agricultural technology and provide them with knowledge on climate change.

The first phase of the project (2006-2009) has effectively reduced the rate of poor households in the six provinces.
