The car’s owner, Hoang Van Duc, said that he suddenly saw smoke coming from the front part of his car while he was driving it from Quynh Son commune to Kim Xuyen hamlet in Tan An commune at about 1pm.

He stopped the vehicle and managed to get out just before the car burst into flames with many explosions, which prevented the local people from extinguishing the fire.

Thirty minutes later, the provincial fire brigade arrived and successfully put out the blaze, but the car was burnt to a shell.

The surprising car fire caused traffic congestion at the scene.

Recently, a number of motorbikes and cars of popular brand names such as Honda, Yamaha, SYM and Daewoo have caught fire or exploded. Relevant agencies have been called to investigate the reasons for these incidents.
