Da Nang steps up food safety efforts for 2025 International Fireworks Festival
VOV.VN - With visitor numbers surging for the 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival at the start of summer, the central Da Nang city has stepped up inspections to ensure food hygiene across markets and eateries.

At Con Market in Hai Chau district, competent agencies conducted random rapid tests on prepared foods to check for additives and coloring agents, with all samples testing negative. Visitor numbers at Con Market have doubled compared to usual during the festival.
Food vendors at the market undergo regular training on food hygiene and periodic health check-ups. Nguyen Thi Dieu Hanh, a vendor, said products like beef rolls, pork dishes, and fast food items are made fresh daily, stored in glass cabinets to prevent contamination, and all vendors hold valid business licenses.
Restaurants are also tightening food safety measures. Le Huy, manager of Pizza 4P’s Da Nang, said the restaurant strictly follows standard operating procedures in the kitchen to ensure every dish meets hygiene standards and maintains quality to protect customers’ health.

Son Tra district has over 500 food service establishments and seven traditional markets, three of which sell prepared foods. Huynh Van Hung, Vice Chairman of Son Tra district People’s Committee, said task forces have been set up to inspect food origins and safety conditions at restaurants and eateries, thus assuring residents and tourists of safe food during the festival.
In May, the Da Nang Food Safety Management Board inspected 2,414 food production and service establishments citywide, penalizing 11 violators with fines totaling nearly VND 30 million. Inspections focused on the three districts hosting festival events, targeting businesses with previous violations or signs of non-compliance.
Deputy Head of the Da Nang Food Safety Management Board, Dinh Van Tuan, said inspection teams reviewed legal documents, food safety certificates, employee health checks, and food safety knowledge. They also conducted on-site checks of preparation, storage conditions, and input materials. All violations were dealt with strictly, he added.
