600 delegates from related agencies attended the meeting in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and MCST leaders.
During the year, the MCST carried out a lot of important activities aimed at preserving national cultural heritages, including completing the dossier for UNESCO recognition of Quan Ho folk singing and Ca Tru ceremonial songs as world intangible heritages and finalizing the drafting of some amendments to the intellectual property law (revised).
In terms of sports, the MCST successfully organised the Asian Indoor Games 3 (AIG) and the first Asian Martial Arts Games. Vietnam won great achievements in the Southeast Asian Games (Sea Games 25).
Regarding tourism, Vietnam received over 3.8 million international and 25 million domestic guests in 2009.
