COVID-19: Vietnam records another imported case

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese citizens returning from Russia has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the country’s tally of coronavirus infections to 1,367, the Ministry of Health said on December 7.

The new patient, a 29-year-old woman of Thai Binh province, was quarantined as soon as she landed at Da Nang International Airport, central Vietnam, on December 6.

She tested positive the same day and was then transferred to Da Nang Lungs Hospital for medical observation and treatment.

The new case has taken to 1,367 the number of coronavirus infections in Vietnam since the virus was detected in the country in late January.

Of the total, 1,220 patients have gone on to make a full recovery. Some 35 patients have died of the virus and related health issues.

The remaining 122 patients are in stable health condition, with 17 cases having tested negative at least once.

Elsewhere, the world has recorded nearly 67 million COVID-19 infections in 220 countries and territories. The death toll has risen to more than 1.5 million.
