COVID-19: 52 new community cases confirmed on May 30 morning

VOV.VN - Fifty-two more people have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the past 12 hours, including 35 cases in Bac Giang and 10 cases in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said on May 30 morning.

All the new patients in Bac Giang were detected during their stay in quarantine and lockdown areas at industrial park.

Meanwhile, eight out of 10 new cases in Ho Chi Minh City were closely linked to the COVID-19 outbreak at the Revival Ekklesia Mission Vietnam, a Christian congregation in Go Vap district.

Since the first case at the Revival Ekklesia Mission Vietnam was announced just four days ago, a total of 93 cases have been logged, turning the group into the largest coronavirus hotspot in the city.

HCM City has called on those in direct and indirect contact with members of the religious sect to make health declaration to slow the spread of the virus in the community.

Elsewhere six cases were detected in Bac Ninh, another COVID-19 hotspot, and one case in Hai Phong.

Vietnam has registered 3,836 new cases, including 12 deaths, in 34 cities and provinces nationwide since the virus recurred in late April.
