COVID-19: 27 out of 31 fresh community cases recorded in Hai Duong

VOV.VN - Vietnam's community transmission tally from ongoing outbreaks rose to 533 following the latest detection of additional 31 local infections, the Ministry of Health said on February 11 afternoon.

Among the new cases, Hanoi and the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai reported one each, Hai Duong hotspot 27 and its neighbor Quang Ninh 2.

February 11 alone recorded a total of 49 local transmissions with the local infection tally rising to 533 across 13 localities since the resurgence of the virus on January 28.

Hai Duong remains the biggest Covid-19 hotspot so far with 383, trailed by Quang Ninh (59) and Ho Chi Minh City (34).

The same day, as many as 51 COVID-19 patients were declared free from the virus, taking the total recoveries in the country to 1,531.

More than 114,000 people are in quarantine throughout the nation for medical surveillance, with 766 in hospitals and the remainder at home or places of residence.

By far Vietnam has  recorded 1,246 positive cases in total, including 1,246 locally transmitted cases, and 894 imported ones.

The Health Ministry urges people to strictly follow the 5K principle to slow the spread of the  virus particularly when Vietnamese people are celebrating the Lunar New Year festival or Tet. The 5K principle means Khau trang (Facemask) – Khu khuan (Disinfection) – Khoang cach (Keeping distance) – Khong tap trung dong nguoi (No gathering) – Khai bao y te (Medical declaration).
