Construction on RoK-Tra Vinh wind power plant begins
VOV.VN - A ground-breaking ceremony for the first phase of the Republic of Korea-Tra Vinh wind power plant was held on February 24 in Duyen Hai district in the southern province of Tra Vinh.
According to officials, the plant has a budget of US$130 million and planned capacity of 48MW. It will have 24 turbines, which will span over 1,200 hectares of land and water surface in the Truong Long Hoa and Dan Thanh communes of the Duyen Hai district.
It is expected to be completed and placed into operation in February 2017, generating electrical output of over 173,000 MWh per year.
The project will also ensure energy security and help generate jobs for local labourers and contribute VND30-40 billion per year to the local and state budget.
