The Vietnam Association for Protection of Children's Rights (VAPCR) held a conference in Hanoi on August 14 to discuss a development strategy till 2020 and an action plan for the 2009-2010 period.

The development strategy will focus on improving staff skills in effectively publicizing policies relating to children’s needs and rights. It will also launch communication campaigns to raise public awareness of children’s rights, build training programmes and establish a network of trainers to improve professional skills and knowledge on protecting children’s rights.

In addition, the association will continue to address the health-care and educational needs of children, especially those in difficult circumstances.

From now until 2010, it will continue to improve the quality of its activities at the central level, develop its chapters in 10 cities and provinces and mobilize resources to help children.
