The Government issued Decree No 20 on March 31, 1998 regarding price subsidy policies.  Since then, it has spent nearly VND1.900 billion on price subsidies in localities.

Price subsidies for the transport of new plants and fertilizers have raised the ethnic minorities’ awareness of the need to use high-yield varieties, according to the committee.

In future, the application of price subsidies will continue in mountainous and islands areas to help ethnic minority people reduce poverty and hunger and gradually stabilise their lives.
