The Communist Party of Vietnam attaches importance to its traditional friendship and solidarity with the French Communist Party as well as to fostering the friendly cooperative relations between Vietnam and France, affirmed a senior Political bureau member of the Party.

Truong Tan Sang, who is also a permanent member of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee, made the affirmation while receiving Jacque Fath, member of the Standing Committee and head of the FCP Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, in Hanoi on October 6.

"The faithful solidarity and fine traditional cooperation between the two parties will contribute to the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and France," he affirmed.
Jacque Fath assured his host that the FCP will do its utmost to further promote the friendship and solidarity between the two parties and the development of friendly cooperation between the two peoples.

Earlier, on October 5, the French delegation held talks with its Vietnamese counterpart, headed by Director of the CPVCC's Commission for External Relations Nguyen Van Son.

The two sides informed each other of the situation in their respective countries and discussed measures to boost the cooperative relationship between the two parties and countries.

While in Vietnam, the French guests paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum and visited his home and office. They also held working sessions with the party committees of Hanoi city, northern Quang Ninh and central Khanh Hoa provinces.
