Cold front intensifies, northern Vietnam experiences freezing temperatures
VOV.VN - From January 10, the northern region and areas from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue will experience cold weather, with the northern mountainous and midland areas facing severe cold and freezing temperatures, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
The cold air will intensify and spread to more regions in the North and Central areas, with northeastern winds at level 7, gusting up to category 9 in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Temperatures in the northern region will drop to 9-12°C, and mountain areas may see temperatures below 3°C. In Hanoi, temperatures will be around 9-12°C. The Gulf of Tonkin and coastal areas will experience strong winds and rough seas.
It is warned that the intensified cold air will bring rain, showers, and occasional thunderstorms from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh, with localized heavy rain in some areas. The mountainous regions may experience freezing temperatures, frost, and ice. These weather conditions could impact agriculture and infrastructure.
