Coca-Cola provides community assistance worth over VND 6.7 billion for Tet 2026
VOV.VN - On the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tet), the Vietnam Red Cross Society, in coordination with Coca-Cola Vietnam and The Coca-Cola Foundation, delivered a community assistance package worth more than VND 6.7 billion, targeting disadvantaged groups and people affected by natural disasters.
The centrepiece of the initiative is the “Tet for Humanity- Zero-VND Tet Market” programme, funded with more than VND 2.8 billion by Coca-Cola Vietnam. Held in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City and Tay Ninh province, the programme supports 3,000 beneficiaries, including low-income households, people with disabilities, patients in difficult circumstances, elderly people living alone and those affected by natural disasters.
Each participant receives shopping vouchers worth VND 600,000 to select essential goods at booths supplied by Saigon Co.op.
Alongside material assistance, the programme also features Tet cultural activities such as making banh chung (traditional square sticky rice cakes), calligraphy gifting, free haircuts and health consultations, thus contributing to a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
In addition, the Vietnam Red Cross Society is implementing a non-refundable humanitarian aid package worth US$150,000 (equivalent to more than VND 3.9 billion) from The Coca-Cola Foundation to support 3,200 people in Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh provinces who were severely affected by storms in 2025. Assistance is provided through shopping vouchers at “Humanitarian Choice Stalls,” enabling households to purchase essential items and stabilise their lives ahead of the Lunar New Year.
The timely mobilisation of these resources eases year-end pressures on disaster-affected communities and vulnerable groups, allowing them to welcome Tet 2026 under more stable conditions.
In recognition of its sustained contributions to humanitarian activities through the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Coca-Cola Vietnam was honoured for its outstanding contributions during the 2020-2025 period at the sixth National Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society in 2025.
