Cisco accelerates 5G infrastructure development in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Cisco, a global leader in networking and cybersecurity, has launched the 5G Routed Optical Networking Lab (5G RON) in Hanoi to support Vietnam’s digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).

This cutting-edge facility, part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) Programme, is designed to test and evaluate 5G RON solutions tailored to Vietnam’s specific needs. It also serves as a hands-on training hub for customers and partners exploring advanced digital technologies.
The initiative directly supports Vietnam’s National Digital Transformation Programme for the 2025–2030 period, which prioritizes nationwide 5G coverage and innovation through Artificial intelligence (AI).
By combining 5G with Cisco’s RON architecture, the lab aims to drive breakthroughs in broadband, Internet of things (IoT), smart manufacturing, and AI-powered applications, helping to boost productivity and innovation across sectors.
With the ability to scale bandwidth up to 400G and even 1.2T, Cisco’s architecture dramatically improves network performance, speeds up 5G deployment, reduces testing time, and lays the groundwork for widespread AI adoption in Vietnam.
The 5G RON Lab is expected to be a catalyst for Vietnam’s digital progress, supporting service providers, enterprises, and the broader population in embracing next-generation connectivity and digital services.
