The Central Highlands province of Dak Nong plans to invest US$87.5 million in promoting socio-economic development and improving the material and spiritual lives of around 30,000 ethnic minority people in its border districts between now and 2010.

Some of the money will be spent on building a modern general hospital and communal infirmaries of national standard in the districts of Dak R'Lap, Dak Song, Dak Mil and Cu Jut.

Part of the sum will be used to support school children and to attend school and to provide safe water for at least 85 percent of households in these localities.

The province will also invest in building 37 irrigation projects, developing traffic systems and assisting all villages in the districts to have access to the national electric grid.
