The Wildlife Rescue Centre of Cat Tien National Park received seven rare white-chested black bears from a business based in the southern province of Dong Nai on March 3.
The bears will be released to the wild.
This species, scientifically named Ursus Thibetanus, is also known as Himalayan or Asian black bears.
They are now listed in the Red Data Book of Vietnam as the most vulnerable among threatened species. They are also recorded in the Red List of the International Union of Conservation of Nature.
Local forest rangers said these bears are about 10 years old, each weighing nearly 200 kg.
The Cat Tien National Park is located in the central highland province of Lam Dong, and the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc.
