The Hanoi Culture-Sports and Tourism Department will hold a series of events to promote the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and the 2010 national year of tourism to tourists from Japan and China.
The promotional campaign will take place in September in four Japanese cities - Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya. The department will also attend Asia’s largest tourism fair, held by the Japanese Association of Travel Agents (JATA), in Japan.

Campaigns to promote Vietnam as a travel destination will also be launched in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, China, in November.

In addition, the department will attend the Travex fair in Brunei next January within the framework of the Asia Tourism Forum.

Hanoi will invite a number of Chinese cities and provinces, including those within the ‘two corridors-one economic belt’ area such as Guangxi, Yunnan, Guangdong and Hainan to attend its international tourism festival in October 2010. It will also ask for their assistance in attracting more Chinese visitors.
