The provincial authorities, and representatives of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and from southern localities attended the grand festival. President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Pham The Duyet, the Government's Committee for Religious Affairs and the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilisation sent congratulatory flower baskets to the function.

Addressing the festival, Monsignor Thuong Tam Thanh, Head of the Executive Council, said the religious practice of the Cao Dai religious sect has been facilitated since the Government recognised the Cao Dai Church in 1997 and the Ordinance on religious belief took effect in 2004.

He also said the authorities of all localities stretching from north to south have offered their effective assistance to the sect.

On the occasion, Monsignor Thuong Tam Thanh called Caodaist followers to help Typhoon Xangsane's victims in the central region to overcome aftermaths.
