The Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), paid a visit to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on February 8 on the occasion of the forthcoming Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).

Receiving the Buddhist dignitary, VFF Vice President and General Secretary Huynh Dam spoke highly of the VBS's great contributions to the country's national unity. He highlighted the role and endeavour of the VBS and dignitaries in encouraging monks, nuns and followers to respect the Party and State's policies and laws.


VFF Vice President Dam expressed his hope that the Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu and other Buddhist dignitaries will actively work to make VFF the home of national unity and prepare for the 12th National Assembly election.


The Most Venerable said the VBS will continue to mobilise Buddhist followers to take part in the VFF's movements and campaigns.
