Bualoi death toll rises to 26, widespread destruction reported
VOV.VN - As of 1:00 p.m. on September 30, typhoon Bualoi, along with heavy rain, flashfloods, landslides, and whirlwinds, has left 26 dead, 22 missing, 105 injured, and 8 others currently uncontactable, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

A total of 88 houses completely collapsed, while 135,772 houses were damaged or had their roofs blown off. In addition, 13,809 houses were flooded. Approximately 25,547 hectares of rice and subsidiary crops were flooded or damaged. Moreover, 8,760 hectares of aquaculture areas suffered losses.
Landslides and flooding occurred at 1,366 locations along various roads, leading to significant traffic disruptions. Furthermore, around 6,510 meters of embankments, riverbanks, and coastal areas were eroded.
As many as 5,661 power poles were toppled, while 57,815 trees were uprooted or broken, with the majority of damage occurring in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh.
Between September 30 and October 1, flood levels in the northern region and Ha Tinh are expected to rise further. Peak water levels on the Hoang Long River and small rivers are forecast to reach Alert Level II - III 2–3 and beyond. The Lo River, Thai Binh River and La River are anticipated to reach Alert Level I–II and above.
In light of the complex and ongoing natural disaster developments, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has urgently requested provincial administrations from Ninh Binh to Quang Tri to mobilise personnel, materials, and equipment to handle incidents and prevent further escalation.
The localities were also asked to closely monitor high-risk and damaged dike areas, prepare detailed and approved response plans, ensure sufficient manpower and supplies, and assign clear responsibilities.
