The British Council and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam (MoET) will inaugurate a bilingual website www.teachingenglish.edu.vn on February 5.

The website is expected to be a very useful source of materials for both teachers and learners of English in Vietnam, particularly for the upper secondary school level, at a time when the country is implementing a project entitled “Foreign language teaching and learning in the national education system –2008-2020”, said Pham Manh Hung, director of the Department for Teachers and Educational Managers, MoET.

Teachers can find guidance on class activities, tips on dealing with everyday problems such as correcting errors and managing large classes as well as information on professional development.

Simon Beardow, deputy director of the British Council stated that the website is a great example of the British Council’s commitment to provide teachers of English across Vietnam with access to quality teaching resources and opportunities to engage in exchanges with other English teachers around the world.

The website is part of the Access English project, which has been launched by the British Council in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to support changes in English language teaching.
