The Boeing Company and the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF) inaugurated a primary school in Hoi Ninh commune, northern Ninh Binh province, on January 30.

Under a US$100,000 project mainly funded by the Boeing giant, the two-story Hoi Ninh school has become twice bigger with six new classrooms, a multi-function room, an administration building for school staff, a medical facility, a library, a schoolyard and sanitary male and female restrooms.

The school is also installed with 180 sets of student desks and chairs, 15 other sets for teachers and textbooks for students of all five grades.

On this occasion, Vietnam Airlines donated more than 400 book bags for students and teachers to broaden their knowledge.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Christ Flint, international sales director of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes, expressed his hope that the newly-enlarged school will provide a solid basis for Hoi Ninh students to learn and develop to their full potential.

“This school stands as a legacy of partnership between our two countries,” said Mr Flint.
