Boats banned from several rivers in Hanoi

VOV.VN - The Hanoi Department of Transport issued a notice on September 11 stipulating that all vessels operating on the Ca Lo river, the Yen stream, and the Suoi Hai lake are banned.

According to information given by the department, due to the impact of super typhoon Yagi which brought spells of heavy rain and strong winds, hydropower plants discharging water has caused water levels to rise in several rivers.

Therefore, as a means of ensuring traffic safety on inland waterways, all activities on these rivers have been banned, with the exception of vessels joining flood prevention efforts.

The ban came into effect on the afternoon of September 11 and will be kept in place until further notice.

The department also requested that traffic inspectors devise a plan to ensure traffic safety around the clock on local inland waterways, as well as regularly monitoring and evaluating the traffic situation.

It has also asked the Traffic Police Department to direct its relevant agencies and units to competently regulate traffic flow in a bid to prevent traffic insecurity and traffic congestion.
