A ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 10 to honour blood donors and respond to World Blood Donor Day (June 14).
Twenty three individuals were conferred the insignia of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for their 40 donations of blood, while 73 others were presented with certificates of merit for their 30 donations.
Since the beginning of this year, HCM City has received more than 66,8000 units of blood, fulfilling 67 percent of the set target for the whole year. The city’s rare blood club has mobilised 43 members, while the number of voluntary blood donors has increased to 2,554.
In recent years, HCM City has promoted blood donations by disseminating information and launching contests on this subject.
