The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) will present 640 computer systems to the Lao government to assist the country’s education sector under an agreement signed in Vientiane on April 12.

The presents will be given to Laos’ mountainous and remote provinces in need of information technology to improve the quality of teaching and learning, said Chairman of BIDV’s Board of Directors Tran Bac Ha.

Lao Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Somsavath Lengsavath expressed appreciation for the bank’s care and attention to his country, adding that he believes relations between the two Parties, States and people will grow stronger than ever before.

BIDV plans to provide an additional 2,000 computer systems to the Lao government in the next three years (2010-2012).
