The Hanoi Agriculture University opened the nation’s first Master’s degree course on economics and rural sociology with the support of the Belgian University Commission for Development (CUD) on Aug. 11.
The course gathers 17 students who are researchers and lecturers at universities from Hue, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities in Vietnam, the Cambodian Royal Agriculture University and the Lao National University.
The 12-month course is part of the third phase of a five-year (2008-2012) cooperation agreement between CUD and the Hanoi University of Agriculture.
According to the programme co-ordinator, Prof. Joseph Dupey, the course is the start of cooperation between Belgium’s French-speaking universities and universities in the Southeast Asian region.
