A get-together with Catholic and Protestant clerics was held in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on December 15 by the provincial Fatherland Front and the Department for Religious Affairs and Ethnic Minorities.

It was reported at the meeting that so far this year local Catholics and Protestants have raised more than VND2 billion from charitable campaigns in support of the poor, the elderly and natural disaster victims as well as talented students.

In addition, churches and dioceses have raised funds to help build 29 compassionate houses and present more than 5,600 gifts and other necessities to lonely old people and disabled children.

Catholic and Protestant clerics were praised for actively encouraging followers to lead the evangelical life.
