Australia's Edtech companies seek education cooperation opportunities in Vietnam

VOV.VN - The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) brought 16 leading Australian education technology (edtech) businesses to Hanoi as part of the Edtech to Vietnam In-Market Immersion Programme 2025 held on October 22-24.

This three-day mission marked the first large-scale Australian Edtech delegation to Vietnam, underscoring the growing partnership between Australia and Vietnam in advancing education innovation and driving digital transformation. Under Austrade’s Landing Pad initiative, the Edtech to Vietnam In-Market Immersion Programme 2025 deepened collaboration in edtech, showcasing Australian innovation, and engaging with Vietnam’s rapidly evolving education ecosystem.

Following a successful opening day in Ho Chi Minh City, which featured a multi-stakeholder roundtable on digital education transformation with representatives from government, universities, and schools, the delegation arrived in Hanoi on October 23 for a university-focused roundtable at BK Holdings UP (UP Coworking Space). The session was co-organised with the Vietnam Higher Education Network of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (VNEI). The programme concluded the final day with a high-level roundtable attended by Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Gillian Bird. She has consistently emphasised that education remains one of the most important pillars of the Australia–Vietnam relationship.

The 16 Australian edtech businesses highlighted world-class expertise across three key areas, including learning management systems; tools for lesson design and student assessment; and English, STEM, and life-skills education programmes. The delegation featured globally recognised innovators, including Australian graphic design technology unicorn Canva and global learning management systems leader Moodle, among others.

Vietnam is implementing major educational reforms to drive digital transformation, positioning the country as a prime destination for innovative edtech collaboration. Speaking at the opening session, Jonathan Saw, Trade and Investment Commissioner to Vietnam, remarked that Australian edtech is globally recognised for its creativity, quality, and reliability.

"From AI-powered learning platforms to world-class classroom solutions, these companies are helping shape the future of education across the globe. Together with Vietnam’s strong policy commitment and rapid digital transformation, we have the foundations for scalable and meaningful change", said Jonathan Saw.

As the programme successfully concluded in Hanoi on Ocober 24, both countries were actively exploring new opportunities to strengthen cooperation and drive Vietnam’s digital education transformation, reinforcing their shared commitment to building an innovative, connected education future.
