Australian Ambassador to Vietnam donates blood

(VOV) - Ambassador Hugh Borrowman and a group of Australian Embassy Vietnam staff visited the National Institute of Haematology on June 17 to take part in a blood drive organized by the institute.

“I am very proud to join with my embassy colleagues in contributing to a cause that is an extremely important part of the lifeblood of Vietnam," said Ambassador Borrowman, before rolling up his sleeve.

In daily life we don’t always have the opportunity to save lives, but by donating blood, we can save the lives of those badly injured in a motorbike accident or a newborn baby at the hospital, the ambassador added.

Many officials and staff from other international organisations including the World Health Organisation (WHO), United Nations, European Union and International Labour Organization (ILO) also took part in the blood drive.
