Association strives to imbue community with learning spirit

About 18.44 percent of the Vietnamese population are members of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education (VAPE), which has spread its operation nationwide in the past decade.

Chairman of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man shakes hands with President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education Nguyen Thi Doan
The information was reported at a meeting in Hanoi on April 5 between the VAPE and its superior – the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF). The meeting reviewed VAPE’s performance to date and set out its future tasks.

The association has worked to build a society of learning, contributing to boosting workforce quality and building new-style rural areas. It has also prevented thousands of students from dropping out of schools.

VAPE President Nguyen Thi Doan attributed the success of her association in its learning society promotion campaign to effective coordination with the VFF and other VFF member groups.

She said the coordination will focus on boosting learning spirit in adults, which she considered a key factor for national development.

To help the campaign spread further, she proposed the VFF Central Committee direct its members at different levels to work with VAPE in implementing the Government’s Resolution 29 – NQ/TW on comprehensive educational reform.

Chairman of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man lauded efforts made by the association in growing its membership.

He said he believes with dedication and experience, VAPE will contribute more to national construction and development.
