The 8th Asian Hospital Management Conference opened in Ho Chi Minh City on August 13, bringing together more than 700 doctors and specialists from 26 countries.

In his opening speech, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said the Vietnamese government considers people’s health a priority.

Vietnam is making every effort to increase the quality of community healthcare services throughout the country, said Mr Nhan.

He said the conference, the first of its kind held in Vietnam, offered a great chance for hospital managers from Vietnam and other countries to share experiences and promote cooperation.

At the event, delegates presented reports on how to manage hospitals in the context of the economic slowdown, increase investment in health care and simplify procedures for patients.

The conference is held annually to encourage initiatives to improve the quality of community healthcare services.
