Anti-corruption initiative programme introduced

(VOV) - Northern Thai Nguyen province hosted a January 15 conference introducing the 2014 Vietnam Anti-Corruption Initiative (VACI 2014) programme.

Participants said corruption is still a serious and urgent matter in Vietnam thus needing practical initiatives and new ideas of the community to enhance transparency, public integrity and accountability and combat corruption.

The Vietnamese Party and State are determined to promote anti-corruption work ith responsibility of the entire society, they noted while discussing the community supervision and the need to give feedback.

 The 2014 VACI, jointly co-organised by the World Bank (WB) and the Government Inspectorate, covers an innovation contest and a knowledge exchange forum.

The best initiatives will be announced in May.

The programme is the fourth event of the VACI series that has raised the effectiveness of  anti-corruption work.
