Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a plan to include instruction on the State’s fight against corruption in education and training curricula in the nation’s schools.
The plan aims to raise awareness of students, public employees and officials in fighting corruption to regain public confidence in the role of the Party and Government. It will be implemented in high schools, colleges, universities, administrative institutions of the Party, State agencies, armed forces, and political and social organisations.
In 2011, an education programme on preventing and fighting corruption will be launched on a national scale based on a review of the results of the pilot plan.
The instructional materials will focus on the causes, negative consequences of corruption and attitude of students towards corrupt officials and staff who work in the political, social and economic agencies of the Government.
In an effort to implement the plan, the Government will concentrate on training and improving teachers’ skills on preventing and fighting corruption.
Conducting research and creating a database will be part of the anti-corruption education programme.
