Another victim found in Ha Long Bay tourist boat tragedy
VOV.VN - As of now, out of the 49 people aboard the Vinh Xanh 58 tourist boat that capsized in Ha Long Bay on the afternoon of July 19, rescue teams have saved 10 individuals, recovered and handed over 37 bodies to their families, while two victims remain missing at sea.

At around 1:00 p.m. on July 22, the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of northern Quang Ninh province received a report of a male body found floating between Bai Chay Beach and Dau Go Cave.
Immediately upon receiving the report, the fire and rescue police deployed specialized vehicles and officers to the scene, while coordinating with the Hon Gai Border Guard Station to bring the victim’s body ashore. The victim was identified as Hoang Viet H., born in 1979, one of the three people previously listed as missing in the Vinh Xanh 58 boat capsizing incident (registration number QN 7105) that occurred on July 19, 2025.
This brings the current tally to 10 people rescued, 37 confirmed dead and returned to their families, and two still unaccounted for.
According to Quang Ninh authorities, as of the afternoon of July 22, the search for the remaining missing victims is ongoing. Despite heavy rain and strong winds caused by Typhoon Wipha, rescue forces continue to mobilize extensive personnel and equipment to search across wide areas of the bay, holding out hope of finding the last two victims.
