Angola and Mozambique leaders participate in Vietnam-hosted study, exchange program

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics on September 5 launched the Research, Survey, and Thematic Exchange Program for leaders and managers of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA, Angola) and the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO, Mozambique) for the year 2025.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council presided over the opening ceremony.

In his opening remarks, Director Thang warmly welcomed the leaders and managers from Angola and Mozambique, emphasizing that the program is designed to consolidate political trust, deepen mutual understanding, and close cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and both MPLA and FRELIMO.

He highlighted that Vietnam’s relations with Angola and Mozambique have been nurtured through shared experience in fighting foreign invasion and national liberation. These ties also reflect the respect and admiration of the peoples of Angola and Mozambique for President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam, the vanguard in the struggle against imperialism and colonialism, as well as in nation-building, development, and safeguarding Vietnam’s sovereignty.

He also praised the determination and unity of the governments and peoples of Angola and Mozambique in their historical and ongoing efforts to build their nations.

The thematic research program was initiated at the request of MPLA and FRELIMO, focusing on nine key topics including cadre training, political education, economic development, adaptation to contemporary changes (digital government, online public services), and strengthening the Party’s leadership role.

To ensure the program’s quality, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics engaged experienced experts and policy planners to design and deliver the curriculum.
