Vietnam reported another 37 A/H1N1 cases by 5pm of August 8, bringing the total victims of the super flu to 1,115, including one death.

The newly infected cases comprise 16 from the south, 10 from the north, 9 from the central region, and 2 from the Central Highlands.

So far 628 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

The rest (487) remain under quarantine and treatment. They are all in stable conditions.

As the epidemic has had complicated developments, the Ministry of Health is working with localities, related agencies, foreign countries and international organizations to keep it in check.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said 205,783 people have been confirmed to catch the A/H1N1 virus in 168 countries and territories as of August 8, causing 1,569 deaths.
