The film covered the war in Vietnam between 1945-1975, reflecting deep sympathy to the Vietnamese people’s fight for independence and freedom as well as mistakes made by the US during the war.

During the exchange, American students were very moved by pictures of a war-ravaged Vietnam. Danielle, an American student said the film gave her a deeper insight into the truths about the war in Vietnam that she and her friends had not known.

Chief Representative of the VVAF Tom Leckinger said he hoped the film would

help young people from the two countries look back at history and educate American students about the Vietnamese people’s struggle, contributing to strengthening the mutual understanding and friendship between Vietnam and the US.
