Ambassador vows support to Vietnamese in Canada

Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada Nguyen Duc Hoa has affirmed that the Vietnamese embassy in Ottawa and Vietnamese Consulate General in Vancouver will always link the overseas Vietnamese up with the home country.

He made the statement during a meeting with Vietnamese nationals in Vancouver, the capital city of British Colombia province, as part of his visit to western Canadian provinces from April 27-29.

Hoa said his visit aims to acquire their aspirations and constructive feedback on strengthening Vietnam-Canada ties and national development.

The ambassador updated them about domestic situation and orientations to bilateral ties in the near future, especially education, economic, trade and health care cooperation.

Together with Vietnamese Consul General in Vancouver Pham Manh Hai, Hoa also answered questions regarding domestic investment procedures, guarantee for marriage and citizenship.

They took note of suggestions involving administrative procedures, the Party and State’s policies and guidelines targeting overseas Vietnamese.

During the stay, the ambassador called on several outstanding firms owned by Vietnamese in Vancouver, including the largest mushroom grower in the west and the third largest in Canada, Champ’s Mushroom and one of the largest Asian supermarkets in Vancouver, HenLong.
