Detective Bennett Nolan from the NSW police also said the court ordered Truc to pay AUD100,000 (US$75,000) for her victims, adding that if the defendant cannot pay the compensation, the victims are unlikely to get back their money unless they are willing to pursue more civilian lawsuits.
In January 2016, Truc cheated hundreds of Vietnamese students in Australia who conducted transactions with Truc through Facebook and transferred money to her account to buy Vietnam Airlines tickets to Vietnam with lower prices than those announced by the airline. However, they found that the tickets did not exist when making check-in procedures.
